Shahid Mofatteh Hamedan Thermal Power Plant, located in the Kabudarahang plain at km 45 of the

Hamedan-Tehran road, is a 1,000 MW thermal plant consisting of four 250 MW steam units. Its wet cooling

system required a large volume of water. Due to heavy groundwater abstraction and sharp decline of water

levels, a project was defined to convert the wet system to a hybrid wet/dry system, including construction of

cooling towers, modification of existing condensers, heat exchangers, piping and related electrical and

control systems.

Rastak Pouya’s scope included design of the control system and operator desks; supply of PLC cards, power

supplies, Siemens S7-400 CPUs and related equipment; fabrication of control panels; programming and

software modeling; FAT and SAT tests; supervision of panel installation; instrumentation cable connections;

and commissioning of the system and industrial computers.
