The Bardsir Direct Reduction Plant consists of two mega-module units, each with an annual capacity of 1.72

million tons of sponge iron, and is being built by Fakoor Sanat Tehran Engineering on an EPC basis.

Following successful cooperation by Farzan Fan Andish and Rastak Pouya on previous electrical and

instrumentation projects, Fakoor Sanat assigned the entire piping execution package to this group,

comprising more than 250,000 inch-dia. of piping related to water and gas lines. The group is also

responsible for all electrical, control and instrumentation system installation in the plant. Based on the

experience of implementing the OPERCOM system (a Total France product) at the Gol Gohar steelmaking

project, the employer requested ICAPS implementation here as well to integrate operations between systems

and subsystems, increase productivity and improve project documentation.
